TLDR: Diseases like cancer are becoming a big problem in developing countries. Access Accelerated was created to fight this problem.
The Problem: Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill 40 million people each year, equivalent to 70% of all deaths globally. And these NCDs—which include cancers, heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory diseases—are a growing problem in developing countries, where things like fast food chains are becoming more readily available, but health infrastructure—such as accessible medications and treatment—are not.
The Solution: To fight this growing problem, a consortium of 20+ global pharmaceutical companies partnered with the World Bank to increase access to preventative care and treatment for NCDs. The initiative needed a brand that clearly articulated the mission, vision, and commitment to a private/public approach to tackling non-communicable diseases.
